Biography
Benjamin Barber is a Senior Research Scholar at the Center on Philanthropy and Civil Society of the Graduate Center, the City University of New York, the President and Founder of the Interdependence Movement, and a Professor of Political Science Emeritus at Rutgers University. He is an internationally renowned political theorist, and brings an abiding concern for democracy and citizenship to issues of politics, globalization, culture and education in America and abroad.
Academic Career
Mr. Barber studied his Masters and obtained his Doctorate from Harvard University; his focal point is on democracy, globalization, culture and education in America and abroad and citizenship to issues of politics. He has consulted and continues to consult various political and civic leaders, including President Clinton and various others.
Publications
Benjamin Barber has published various books, 17 in total, this includes Strong Democracy and Jihad vs. McWorld. He also writes blogs for various news outlets, including the Huffington Post, the Nation, the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Atlantic Monthy, the Guardian and various others. He has also appeared on several television networks including CNN, Fox News, Fox Business, Bill Moyers Journal and so forth.

Mr. Barber has an extensive number of achievements, some of them include knighthood from the French Government, the Berlin Prize of the American Academy in Berlin and the John Dewey Award.
