As 2017 is “the France-Colombia year”, many events are organized in both countries, especially for Summer time. It is a one-year bilateral program of educational, cultural, economic and environmental exchange. This article aims to present the main cultural events from the program that are scheduled this summer.

In Colombia, France promotes its culture through 2 major events. “El Universo Holograma” is an artistic exhibition that takes place in Cali, in the museum of “La Tertulia” from the 30th March to 17th of July. It gathers French and Colombian artistic works about the relation between art and science. It questions how the new technologies affect our perspectives of space and time.

On the “Plaza Mayor” of Medellín, from the 25th of July to the 27th of July will be organized the “Colombiamoda”. France is the special guest of this year’s edition. During three days, masculine, feminine and child fashion will be exposed by more than 450 national and international exhibitors. It is the occasion to strengthen cultural and commercial relations between France and Colombia in the fashion sector.

In France, an urban artists’ exhibition “Paz Partout” is organized at the Colombian Consulate of Paris from the 11th to the 13th of July. The objective of the event is to establish new artistic and cultural links between the artists and the public through the main topic of the exhibition which is peace. The event involves artists from both countries.

Furthermore, the music festival “Tempo Latina” in the small south-western city of France Vic Fezensac will be held from the 27th to the 30th of July. The Colombian bands that will perform are “Puerto Candelaría” from Medellín and “LA-33” from Bogotá. “Puerto Candelaría” is an indie band that combines Rebel Cumbria Underground music with Colombian Style Jazz. “LA-33” mixes rock, jazz and salsa. These two bands are on tour throughout France all summer long.
