Biography

Ambassador Eddy PRATOMO was born on the 5th October 1953. He received higher education in the US reading International Law and Diplomacy at St. John’s University, New York. Speaking both Indonesian and English, he served as Head of the Political Section at Indonesia’s Permanent Representation to the United Nations in Geneva between 1994 and 1998. In 2005 he served a year as Deputy Chief of Mission at the Indonesian Embassy in London and moved into the position of Director-General for International Law and Treaties Affairs at the Indonesian Foreign Ministry in 2006.

Since October 2010 Ambassador Eddy Pratomo has worked as the Ambassador of Indonesia in Berlin, Germany. He has spoken openly about the importance he places upon cultural exchanges between his home country of Indonesia and Ambassadorial residence of Germany, expressing that both governments would have a lot to gain from increased communication and understanding between their people and politicians.
