Biography

Mr Zniber has been Morocco's Permanent Representive to the international organizations in Vienna, Austria, since June 2003. He is also Morocco's Ambassador to Austria, Slovakia and Slovenia. Prior to coming to Austria, Mr Zniber headed the Directorate of the United Nations and International Organizations in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Morocco for over three years. He was the chief of the Directorate's United Nations Division from 1996 to 1999. From 1989 to 1996 Mr Zniber served as Counsellor in charge of disarmament issues, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the World Health Organization (WHO) at the Permanent Mission of Morocco in Geneva, Switzerland. During that time, Mr Zniber was a member of the Drafting Committees for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty and the Convention on the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons. He was also a coordinator of the non-aligned countries at the Conference on Disarmament in Geneva, Switzerland.

Mr Zniber holds a doctorate in international public law from the University of Assas Panthéon in Paris, France, and a master's degree in public law from the University Mohamed V for Legal and Social Sciences, Rabat, Morocco.
