Mexico and Italy Agree to Promote Business and Investment Between the Two Countries

Agreement for Business Cooperation in the Framework of the Visit of Italian Prime Minister to the Latin American Country.

In the last April the 20th during the stay of just one day, of the Italian official Matteo Renzi in Mexico City which came followed by the visit of Peña Nieto to Rome on the last month of June, was agreed to further strengthen the growing investment between the two countries.

The Italian president arrives in Mexico accompanied by a group of Italian businessmen to encourage the political links, of mobility and economy, focusing especially in the latter. It was agreed to progress in cooperation to support small and medium enterprises.

The investment between the two countries has increased considerably in recent years, a trend that probably will continue, as in Mexico about 2,000 companies operate with Italian capital are spread between the capital and the states of Guanajuato and San Luis Potosi.

The meeting also served to shape the "willingness to work" in conjunction in areas such as security and defense, explained the prime minister. In addition, the leaders confirmed the launch of a direct flight from Rome to Mexico City since next June and through the airline Alitalia.

It was also pointed the parallelism of the reforms carried in both countries, to face the new challenges that are being presented in the world on financial field. Also was remembered the growing and intense cultural exchange between the two countries, with exhibitions in the respective countries of Frida Kahlo, Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo, besides formalities, like the colors of the flags of both countries are the same, and that patriotic self lábaros are very similar.

Italy is the third largest trading partner for Mexico among the countries of the European Union and the eleventh worldwide, and this helped in the official lunch held later, where Peña Nieto highlighted the diplomatic tradition of over 140 years, between Mexico and Italy and they agreed to continue finding similarities and areas of opportunity, to strengthen our ties as partners, friends and strategic allies.
