Biography

Besim Beqaj is the first Minister of European Integration of Kosovo, a post he has held in 2010.

Academic Career

Besim Beqaj obtained his Bachelors and Masters from the University of Zagreb in Croatia. He also committed to a European Ph.D Program in Business Administration and Management of small college-educated Autonoma de Barcelona and Växjö University in Sweden. Furthermore Mr. Beqaj also completed his doctoral studies at the University of Zagreb and a Ph.D in Development and Management of New Product in Kosovo at the University Prishtina.

Career

Prior to his post as the first minister of European Integration of Kosovo, in 2005 Mr. Beqaj held the post of President of Kosovo Chamber of Commerce. He then served as a Political Adviser in the Office of the Prime Minister in the Government of Kosovo and Kosovo National Coordinator of the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe.

After two terms he was elected as president of KCC. He is also part of the Fulbright program, where he taught and conducted academic research in the field of Economic Integration in Southeast Europe in the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago Kent College of Law. Furthermore Mr. Beqaj teaches International Business as the University of Pristina.
