Norine Farah Represents Egypt in World Fashion Week
The Egyptian fashion designer will represent her country at World Fashion Week in Paris 2017October 19th, 2016
With more than 50 countries from all over the world and approximately 40 fashion shows, World Fashion Week in Paris is the upcoming event for every designer, model, fashion lover and fashion icon.
After two years of hard work, Norine Farah Couture has become a remarkable brand due to its specific use of fabric and creativity, which is attracting local and international attention.
In June, the World Fashion Week team contacted Norine, announcing her that she was chosen to represent Egypt in Paris. “I built my website about eight months ago, I get emails through the website and one day, three months ago, I got an email from World Fashion Week saying that I had been nominated to represent Egypt at Paris. I got really excited, and started looking more into it, I found myself a sponsor and now I will go,” said Norine Farah.
Norine's career began by designing dresses for free for her friends. After studying design and tailoring in Milan and Florence, Farah created a workshop and learnt many of her skills whilst working with a tailor in her atelier in the upscale Cairo neighbourhood of Heliopolis.
“I’m very happy that I’m travelling and that I get to show people abroad that Egyptians have good taste and style and we can do something that’s big and that’s good, and that it’s not just the image they see on television, but there’s also lots of other people like us”, Farah said.
Farah said that she has been working diligently since she got the nomination, which is sponsored by Huawei Egypt: "there will be a lot of earth tones. A lot of pale greys, toned down golds and silvers. The style itself will be baroque-French style, lots of embroidery and beading. It's different from what I usually do, but I'm really excited!"
