Biography

Professor Patrick Watson is the current Director of Sir Arthur Lewis Institute of Social and Economic Studies. He also was the Coordinator of the Economic Measurement Unit, Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of the West Indies.

Academic Career

Mr. Watson obtained his Bachelors in Commerce from the University of Leeds in 1973. He later obtained his L-es-Econ, his M-es-Econ and a Ph.D in Mathematical Economics and Econometrics in Paris.

Career

Mr. Watson’s area of expertise is Econometric Modelling of Caribbean phenomena and Economic Measurement and Statistical Analysis. His current research includes Social Accounting Matrices for the Caribbean with applications to poverty and human capital formation.

Publications

Prof. Watson has published many works, including books and articles in the area of Theoretical and Applied Econometrics and Caribbean Economy.
