After 25 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries, Slovenia wants to go further and is considering to open a permanent resident embassy in Seoul, the capital city of South Korea.

So far, Slovenia maintains diplomatic relations with South Korea from its embassy in Tokyo, Japan. It is a big step for the small country of 2 million inhabitants. Moreover, the South Korean Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha has been invited to an annual Slovenian government forum, the Bled Strategic Forum on foreign policy in September.

Slovenia is looking for investments, notably in the seaport industry, and to exchange with South Korean in the tourism sector. This initiative is also a good way to celebrate the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
