The Second World Nomad Games, Kyrgyzstan

The Second World Nomad Games will be held in Kyrgystan between September 3-8, 2016.There will be 23 different sporting competitions at the next nomadic analogue of the Olympic Games.
 
The objective of the games is the revival and perseveration of the historical cultural heritage of the nomadic people’s civilization of the world.

The World Nomad Games were first held in Kyrgystan in September 2014. The Games were a celebration and dedication to the history of nomadic nations, their traditions, lifestyle, and culture. More than 400 athletes from 19 countries, who competed in wrestling, horse wrestling, horse races, Kok Boru, Ordo, and Kyz Kumai gathered at the games.

According to the State Agency on youth, culture and sport under the Government of the Kyrgyz Rebuplic, athletes from more than 40 countries are expected to compete in the upcoming tournament held in one of Kyrkystan’s most beautiful resort towns, Cholpon-Ata.

Objectives of the game are to show the world the greatness of the nomadic civilization, and the values of peace, culture and life of each ethnic group of nomadic world. The game further gives people the opportunity to witness nomadic sports in their original form.

The Second World Nomad Games is the biggest international project of the Kyrgyz Republic.
