Art Museum of San Marcos Brings Together the Work of Artists from Peru, Ecuador and Mexico
Peru SIAL 2016 Seeks to Create Bridges for the Integration of Latin American Nations
August 15th, 2016The Art Museum of San Marcos (MASM) is presenting the International Exhibition of Latin American Art (SIAL) in Peru. SIAL is a cultural event which opens its doors to the public on August 11, 2016.
Peru SIAL 2016 brings together the creative work of visual artists from Ecuador, Mexico and Peru, and seeks to build bridges towards the integration of Latin American nations. Comprised mostly of figurative art, the exhibition is an affinity of topics related to human beings, stories, traditions and modern-day life, where we can enjoy works made using different techniques together with the styles of highly-experienced designers and newcomers to the art scene.
Thanks to the efforts of the artistic and cultural manager Martin Ferro, Peru SIAL 2016 is able to present the work of Jacques Bartra, Margarita Ninapaytán, Lennin Vasquez, Martin Ferro, William Lopez, William Cruzado, Silvana Ponce, Florencia Luna, Franco Espinoza and Rafael Moreno.
In Ecuador, the works of Rita Merino, Camilo Andrade, Michelle Merizalde, Paulina Altuna and Francisco Barahona will be exhibited. The art of Graciela Guerrero will be shown in Mexico.
Notable personalities in the cultural field participating in the exhibition include Arabela Bartrala, restorer and cultural manager, and Mg. Ada Maria Llosa, a researcher of aesthetics and art history.
The International Exhibition of Latin American Art Peru 2016 will be inaugurated on Thursday 11th August at 19:00 in the Victor Humareda room in the Cultural Center of San Marcos in downtown Lima. Entrance to the inaugural event is free and it will then be open Monday - Saturday until 27th August, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and 2:00 to 5:00 pm.
