Festival of the Romanian Language in USA and Canada
The Romanian Cultural Institute in New York is Organizing the First ever Festival of the Romanian Language in USA and Canada

Famous artists from Romania have been invited to the three-day event. In Montreal on August 15th, in Ottawa August 16th and in New York on August 18ththe famous composer EugenDoga will be performing. He composes music of all kinds of genres and styles, which makes him one of the most prolific and versatile composers. He is the creator of three ballets "Luceafărul”, “Venancia”, “Queen Margot”, the opera “Dialogues of Love”, more than 100 instrumental and choral works – symphonies, 6 quartets, “Requiem”, church music, radio shows, more than 200 movies, more than 260 songs and romances, more than 70 waltzes. He is also the author of many children’s works, the music for the opening and closing ceremonies of the 1980 Olympic Gamesin Moscow. The World Intellectual Property Organization in Geneva, in recognition of his outstanding achievements in music awarded him a special certificate in 2007 for the “Waltzer” production.
VasileIovu, the famous conductor, LuminitaDumbraveanu, the renowned writer, the well-known director and tv showman, TeodorGutu, are also special guests at the event. The former deputy of Chisinau (Republic of Moldova), Ana Mindicanu,will be present at the festival. At the moment she is the President of the Moldovian Community in Quebec. She is well-known in Quebec for organizing cultural and artistic events for Romanian communities. In 2007 she published a book “Longing for freedom.”
The event is organized by the Romanian Cultural Insitute in New York in collaboration with the Romanian Cultural Association in Montreal, the Moldovian Community from Quebec and the Independent Studio from Chisinau.
