Biography

Ambassador Ali Majedi, very good English speaker, was born on 1st November 1946 in Tehran. He studied in his hometown Economics and worked initially in the private industry. Since 1989, in his capacity as diplomat, he was posted as chargé d’affaires and ambassador to the UAE (1989-1991), Brazil (1992-1995) and Japan (1999-2004) and was also the Director General of the Commonwealth of Independent States (1995-1997). From 2013 to 2014 he held the post of vice-minister for economic affairs as well as for oil and trade, and from 2005 to 2013 he worked once again in the private industry.
