Biography

H.E. Javier Helmut Calvo currently works as the Ambassador of Panama to Germany, and has been active in the public and private sectors. He studied Law and Political Science before specializing in procedural, banking and labor law. He rose to the position of Deputy Head of the Legal Department for the Primer Banco de Ahorros (PRIBANCO) in Panama between 1999 and 2000 and was later a founder of a legal society for banking and commercial law between 2008 and 2009. He has also worked as the Director of “Signs Plus” and was a partner in a financial company before his ambassadorial assignment. He speaks Spanish and English.
