Judge Göran Lambertz

Biography

Göran Lambertz is a Judge at the Supreme Court of Sweden. Born was born in Kisa, Östergötland County on 17 February 1950, he graduated with an LLB degree in 1976 at Uppsala University, where he later worked as a teacher at the Faculty of Law. 

He later served as a law clerk at the Uppsala District Court, and in 1989 he became Associate Judge of the Svea Court of Appeal. In the same year he was employed at the Swedish Ministry of Justice. In 1994 he was appointed undersecretary and Head of the Unit of Family and General Property Law, and in 1997 he became Chief of Justice at the Ministry of Justice. On October 1st 2001, he was appointed Attorney-General and held onto this post until 2009 at which point he was elected as Judge of the Swedish Supreme Court (October 8th 2009) and took office on November 16th, 2009.
