Biography

The Hon. Ali Hassan Bahdon is the current Minister of Communication of the Republic of Djibouti.

In April 2013, Mr Ali Hassan Bahdon was appointed Ministry of Communication, in charge of Post and Telecommunications. Previously, he was appointed Minister of the Equipment and Transportation in 2008 and Minister of Labor in May 2011.

As Equipment and Transport Minister, he was an early leader he made the regulation of the urban traffic and the re-ordering the transport at the forefront of his top priorities. He contributed relentlessly to the development of railway corridor enhancing reflexions about the future of Djibouti-Ethiopian railway.  It was with his impulse that the Djiboutian government took the opportunity to create the actual coast guard who fight maritime piracy.

As Minister of Labor, he helped with the creation of the ongoing universal health insurance and has contributed significantly to the collective convention to see the light in the public administration along with the executive secretary of the Djiboutian administration reform.

As Minister of Communication, in charge of Posts and Telecommunications, H.E M. Ali Hassan Bahdon works relentlessly to bridge the digital divide and increase Djibouti’s international visibility so that we become a “Numerical Regional Hub”.

He recently presented the ICT strategic development plan for the 2014-2024 timeframe and therefore makes his own contribution to the development of the Society Information and widespread use of Information technology. 

His Excellency M. Ali Hassan Bahdon married and father of 2 children has always worked with determination, leadership and visionary to lead his country to the gates of Development.
