Biography

President Vincente Fox Quesada is a businessman and politician and has also held the position of 55th President of Mexico. 

Academic Career

He studied business administration at the Universidad Iberoamericana of Ciudad de México and obtained an M.B.A. at the Harvard University School of Business in the United States.

After his career as Chief Executive of Coca-Cola México, he engaged in several social activities in his native State Guanajuato.

Political Career

President Fox entered politics in 1987, joining the National Action Party (PAN), and winning the following year a seat of the federal Chamber of Deputies in which he represented the Third Federal District in León, Guanajuato. In 1995 he was elected as Governor of Guanajuato, and in 1997 he announced his decision to run for the Presidency. From December 2000 to November 2006, President Fox served as President of México. After his six years of presidency, President Fox has been involved in public speaking and in the construction of "Centro Fox"  (Vicente Fox Center of Studies, Library and Museum)

Centro Fox

The Center, which is considered as Mexico’s first presidential library, consists of a library, a museum, a center for the advancement of democracy, a study center and a hotel. It gathers documents and records regarding the years of presidency for mexicans to browse freely.

Achievements and Awards

President Fox obtained several Honours throughout his career: in 1991 he was nominated Civic Man of the Year by the organization Alianza Civica (Civic Alliance); he is also one of the recipients of the Order of the Liberator General San Martin, the highest order of the Republic of Argentina; in 2002 he was awarded with the Grand Cross of the Order of Vytautas the Great of Lithuania; and in 2005, he received the Grand Star of the Decoration of Honour for Services to the Republic of Austria. He is also Honorary Knight Grand Cross of the Order of St Michael and St George.

Publications

In 2007 President Fox’s autobiography, entitled Revolution of Hope: The Life, Faith and Dreams of a Mexican President, was released.
